UNISHADES Cordless Bamboo Roman Shades, 28.5×64 in, Highfield Teak
This is the middle size in the teak bamboo range: 28.5 in across and 64 in down, the proportions of a standard bedroom or guest room window. The reed weave filters daylight into a warm striped light through the day and can be closed to the sill at night. Everything is worked from the bottom rail, with no cord running down the wall beside the frame.
Daylight Through The Reeds
Left partly lowered, the woven strips break the sun into fine horizontal lines that travel across the floor as the day goes on. That is a different quality of light from a solid fabric panel, which either gives the room the full sun or shuts it out entirely. Morning light in an east facing bedroom arrives warmed rather than raw.
Layering With Curtains
A bamboo shade sits close to the glass, which leaves room for a curtain panel on a rod outside it. The teak grain then shows between drawn curtains as a textured band. On its own the shade covers the window with no extra hardware at all, so the same room can be treated simply in summer and dressed more heavily in winter.
The Stack Up Top
Raised, the shade gathers into folds at the head of the frame instead of rolling into a tube, so the top few inches of the window carry the bulk of the material. On a 64 in opening that still leaves a long clear run of glass. Setting the rail just below the folds gives a full view out with the head already shaded.
Size Made As Listed
No allowance has to be worked out from the page, since 28.5 x 64 in is what the shade measures once it is out of the box. An inside mount wants the panel 1/4 in under the opening width, and an outside mount wants 2 to 4 in over the window on both dimensions. Deciding between the two before ordering settles the fit.
